Some Interesting Facts about Modi's Cabinet and Himself

While some of the opposition parties decided to celebrate Aakrosh Divas against the Modi’s Government Notes Demonetisation, 90% of India’s population is supporting Modi’s move. Adding to this here are few unknown facts which may make you support more towards Modi Government. Have a look at this facts.

  • Shri Narendra Damodaradas Modi took charge as PM of India on May 26,2014
  • Shri Narendra Modi Cabinet has one-third educated. As opposed to previous cabinets nearly one-third of Modi’s cabinet is formed of educated ministers. One-third hold law degree. Two are doctors. Nine ministers are graduates in various streams. This is a fantastic reform and let’s appreciate attitude of Modi and his respect towards education

  • Shri Narendra Modi Moves into 7 Race Course Road, Prime Minister’s Official residence on May 30 2014. Known for his extreme simplicity Modi didn’t command or demand any major changes to the residence of prime minister. With some new painting and simple upholstery changes our beloved PM moved in without much request.
  • The Narendra Modi government had set a target of covering about 40 crore bank account holders under The Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojna (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Suraksha Bima Yojna (PMJSBM) But the banks were only able to enrol around 5.5 crore people into these schemes.
  • MP’s and parliament members, BJP party members meet Shri Narendra Modi to seek his blessings. During such meet it is customary to prostrate in front of Shri Modi. As opposed to many politicians Shri Modi urged BJP party members and MPs to take charge of their role and perform their duty without any fail as opposed to falling in his feet and cajoling him.   • Modi government has 65 Ministers compared to Dr. Manmohan Singh’s 2nd Ministry with 80. That’s 20% less. The difference of 25 ministers would immediately relieve at least 375 government officials, employed as personal staff of these ministers. The estimated amount of money saved by each minister would be around one crore rupees every year and thus 25 ministers would save Rs 25 crore every year compounding to Rs125 crore in five years.
  • Modi team wakes up to six-to-midnight torment. Modi's work day began at 6 am and ended at midnight, and that the "unspoken diktat" was that everybody else - officials, ministers and junior ministers - keep pace with their boss. While Nitin Gadkari, Venkaiah Naidu, Smriti Irani, and Nirmala Sitharaman had little trouble adapting, others were "reeling" and struggling to cope up.
  • In UPAs time there were 9 empowered groups of ministers (EGoMs) and 21 groups of ministers (GoMs) in operation to take decisions on various matters before being presented to the cabinet. Do you see the redundancy? Do you see the culture of shirking the work and inadequancy of the ministers to not make decisions on their own or even in gruops? Well, one big thing that Modi did was to abolish all the redundancy! He also abolished the Planning Commision - which was from Soviet era which still was being dragged on and adding nothing much to the real development.
  • E-Samiksha is a portal where the action items for every ministry is monitored. It is the real time, on-line system for monitoring of follow-up action on the decisions taken during the presentations made by different Ministries/Departments to the Prime Minister. The follow-up actions are updated by the misitry with the action item and it is accedded by PMO/Cabinet Secretary/Ministries and the Goverment Departmnets. Now that is responsiveness!
  • On March 14, 2016, that decision – where Indira Gandhi stabbed the Armed Forces in their back after the great 1971 war – imposed by Congress in 1973 was finally corrected and the pensioners received revised pension. Over Rs.1465 crores were paid to the Armed Services Personnel!
  • The Modi Government has a target of bringing electricity to 18,452 villages by May 2018. It seems the way the progress is happening, it will be completed by March 2017 - over a year ahead of schedule!
  • Minister of Home, Rajnath Singh started a program that rescued kids who had gone missing and reuniting them with their families. As of September 2015 report, over 19,000 children had been rescued.
  • Narendra Modi government had decided to complete around 118 projects worth Rs 7.5 lakh crore of previous government which were pending for years.



Apart from Cabinet facts, let’s see his personnel life after becoming PM.

  • Narendra Modi adores his mother and never forgets to take her blessings whenever he undertakes any new initiative- political or otherwise. In fact, she is his only closest relation.
  • Modi only sleep for 3.5 to 4 hours a night, he always slept soundly, and had little trouble falling asleep or waking up on time.
  • The Prime Minister hasn't taken a single day off since he took charge on 26 May, 2014. In fact, his office claims he is "on duty all the time”.
  • Modi doesn’t have official mobile number since PMO had not given. He never complained.
  • Since he joined Twitter in January 2009, Narendra Modi has tweeted over 10 thousand times. His lightning fast messages on his social media sites, which includes Facebook, are all his own doing.
  • Modi also pays for all his grocery bills himself, as according to the RTI response "kitchen expenses of the PM are personal in nature and not incurred on government account".
  • Modi has not attended any Roza-Iftaar party after becoming the prime minister, according to reports.
